BCA General Meeting: Tuesday May 14th. Office of Zoning, DPW, and Board Nominations

Hello, Brightwood community and neighbors,

 

Please join us for our general meeting tomorrow, Tuesday, May 14th.  


We will speak with Mr. Robert Reid, a Zoning Specialist from the Office of Zoning, and Mr. Joel Lawson, an Associate Director of the Office of Planning. We will also be joined by Robert Butler, the new Public Affairs Specialist at the Department of Public Works, who will inform us of DPW updates and events and respond to questions.


Agency representatives from the mayor's office, council member's office, State Board of Education, and Ward 4 ANC will give their monthly updates and answer your questions. 


We will also take nominations from the floor for next month's BCA officer elections.  A person accepting a nomination for President must be a paid member of the Association for at least two (2) years before the date of accepting a nomination. All other officer positions are eligible because nominees are paid members in good standing with the Association and have attended at least one general meeting before the date when nominated. Only dues-paying members are allowed to vote. Please pay your dues by check, in person, mail, or pay online at the following link (https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/BrightwoodDC?locale.x=en_US).  


All board positions are up for election and we have two vacancies to be filled. We hope some of you will consider joining the board. The current executive board is as follows:

  • President: Merlene Horan 

  • First Vice President: Kim Patterson

  • Second Vice President: Vacant

  • Treasurer: David Mackoff

  • Secretary: Vacant
